Bio Note: George Mallen is Chair and Research Director of System Simulation Ltd, the software development company he co-founded in 1970 after leaving Pask’s System Research. His first work on computer simulation was at the Royal Aircraft Establishment on air traffic control in 1962-3. He was subsequently a director of System Research Ltd and then held academic appointments at the Royal College of Art, helping to introduce computer graphics as a teaching subject, and at Bournemouth University, where he was founding head of the Department of Communication and Media, introducing computer graphics as a mainstream communication medium.
