Bio Note: Niall Palfreyman teaches mathematics on the Bioprocess-informatics degree program, and is Dean of Teaching and Learning, at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) in Freising, Germany. After doctoral work in relativistic Hamiltonian mechanics, his post-doctorate research applied symbolic artificial intelligence to the biomagnetic inverse problem. Before joining HSWT, he worked in software design and genetic algorithms, and is interested in how learners, researchers, bacteria and computational agents construct knowledge from their experience. He plays the guitar, sings, and hopes to undermine the international trade in small firearms.
