Bio Note: Raivo Palmaru is currently an assistant professor in the Institute of Communication, at Tallinn University in Estonia, while previously he was professor of communication theory at Nord University, Tallinn, Estonia. He received his M. A. in 1978 from Tartu University and earned his Ph.D. in political science (political communication) in 2001 from Tallinn University. Named “Journalist of the Year” by the Estonian Journalists Association in 1995 and 1996, he has worked for leading Estonian newspapers and magazines. In the political sphere, Palmaru has served as the chief-of-staff of the prime minister of Estonia and from 2005 to 2007 was the minister of culture. Palmaru’s publications include three books and numerous professional papers.
