Abstract
Open peer commentary on the article “The Maturanian Turn: Good Prospects for the Language Sciences” by Alexander V. Kravchenko. Abstract: I argue that in order to move from mere prospects for a Maturanian language science to a mature language science, we need to specify a scientific methodology, operationalize our concepts and posit falsifiable predictions. This need is articulated using Maturana’s views on scientific method and illustrated with respect to two linguistic notions: ambiguity and mutual orientation.
