Abstract
Open peer commentary on the article “Living in Mapworld: Academia, Symbolic Abstraction, and the Shift to Online Everything” by Simon Penny. Abstract: Digital simulations and representations often make poor substitutes for direct engagement with the lived world. However, they also have the potential to enable new forms of engagement with our environment rather than replace those we already have.
