Abstract

Open peer commentary on the article “Coordination Dynamics of Semiotic Mediation: A Functional Dynamic Systems Perspective on Mathematics Teaching/Learning” by Anna Shvarts & Dor Abrahamson. Abstract: I focus on the concept of prolepsis, the representation or assumption of a future act or development as if presently existing or accomplished. It is suggested that prolepsis reveals the non-linear nature of semiotic mediation.
