Bio Note: Alicja Pietras is an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Philosophy, at the University of Silesia in Katowice. She is a graduate in philosophy and sociology. Her research has been on the history of German transcendental philosophy (especially Kant, Hegel, neo-Kantianism, Nicolai Hartmann, Martin Heidegger), the ontology of spiritual being and the philosophical foundations of the social sciences. She is the author of a book on Nicolai Hartmann’s and Martin Heidegger’s projects of ontologies. She is currently working on a book on Hans Wagner’s transcendental philosophy.
