Bio Note: Bartlomiej Swiatczak works as a Specially Appointed Associate Researcher in the Department of History of Science and Scientific Archeology at the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei. His main research interests are in history and philosophy of immunology with a special focus on the problem of how developing studies of the immune system transform our understanding of somatic evolution and adaptation. His recent publications include work on genomic stress responses and the origin of the idea of struggle for existence between bodily parts.
