Bio Note: Ellert R. S. Nijenhuis is a psychologist, psychotherapist, and researcher. He has been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of severely traumatized patients for over three decades, and teaches and writes extensively on the themes of trauma-related dissociation and dissociative disorders. Nijenhuis is a consultant at Clienia Littenheid, Switzerland. His publications include the books Somatoform Dissociation (1999), The Haunted Self: Structural Dissociation and the Treatment of Chronic Traumatization (2006, together with Onno van der Hart and Kathy Steele), and the trilogy The Trinity of Trauma: Ignorance, Fragility, and Control (2015-2017).
