Bio Note: Hugo Cadenas is Director of the Institute for Social and Humanistic Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Chile and Professor at the Universidad de Chile. He has a PhD in sociology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany), and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social anthropology from the Universidad de Chile. Cadenas is director and editor-in-chief of the academic journal Revista Mad. He has authored various articles, books and chapters on social systems theory, sociology of law, social anthropology and sociological theory.
