Bio Note: Jean-François Maheux is a professor of mathematics education in the mathematics department of the Université du Québec à Montréal. His work in the Laboratoire Épistémologie et Activité Mathématique (http://www.leam.uqam.ca) focuses on mathematical activity from an epistemological and historical perspective, and on phenomenological and deconstructive research writing in mathematics.
