Bio Note: Richard Buttny is a Professor of Communication and Rhetorical Studies at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, USA. His scholarly interests include social accounting, metadiscourse, ethnopolitical conflict, and environmental communication. He has published Social Accountability in Communication (1993), Talking Problems: Studies of Discursive Construction (2004), and in various communication or discourse journals.
